Dr. Curtis (who prefers to go by Abigail!) received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University in 2013. She's combined extra behavior training while in school with her 14 years of dog training to start a veterinary practice limited solely to animals with behavior issues.
While her expertise is with severe behavior problems, she prefers seeing her clients MUCH earlier when she can help them with problem prevention.
Her current interests include: the genetic basis of behavior, puppy socialization, and training dogs to enjoy veterinary procedures. She keeps up to date on the latest and greatest in both the veterinary and behavior world through attending many seminars, lectures, and workshops throughout the year.
In her (vast amounts of!) free time, she enjoys training her dogs, backpacking, practicing parkour, and finding the next great adventure. She is a founding director of the Ohio Teen Dog Experience, a founder of the Adventure Unleashed Foundation, TAGteach Level 2 Certified, and a Wilderness First Responder.
She can often be found exploring the city and the woods with her adorable Border Collie/Jack Russell mix dog Gina and her mischievous Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix, James P Sullivan.
Abigail, Gina and Sulley live in Columbus, Ohio.
