Dedicated to one goal: training puppies to be well-socialized, confident adult dogs who enrich their owner's lives.

We strive to train dogs to be welcome guests on life's adventures! Dogs who are well trained with friendly methods are able to enjoy more of what life has to offer.

We also understand that raising a well-mannered puppy takes time, consistency, and experience—something many busy families simply don’t have enough of. That’s where we come in. Our team helps do the training with you or for you! Just like children go to school to learn the skills to be successful in life, puppies who attend school have a big step up on their peers as they grow into confident, well-behaved dogs.

Adventure Unleashed is owned by Abigail Curtis, DVM and Karin Coyne, who have both been training dogs for 15+ years.

At Adventure Unleashed, we purposely keep our team small and highly qualified. We want to make sure that your dog gets expert care from a professional who knows them, you, and your journey personally!

Owner/Trainer

Abigail Curtis DVM

Abigail graduated from Veterinary School in 2013 and has since been applying this knowledge to helping people live their best lives with their pets! She has been training dogs since 2002 when her horse training spilled over to the dogs at home.

She has been training dogs full time since 2014 after deciding that her true passion and skill was in dog training and not traditional veterinary practice. She loves dog training because she feels like she is able to make a life-long positive impact on both owners and pets by allowing them to have better communication and live happy, full lives together.

Her personal dogs have competed in agility, obedience, rally, dock diving, and barn hunt and she is co-captain of the flyball team here in Columbus. She has five dogs: Sulley-a rescue mix, Mouse-a whippet, Vivid-a Koolie, Nettle-a sport mix, and Dandelion-a sport mix who is actually her partners dog and reminds her she's the spare human every day. Her dogs' claim to fame is that Mouse and Vivid helped their flyball team become fastest variety/multibreed team in the country in 2025.

Owner/Trainer

Karin Coyne

Karin started training dogs in 2003 and started her dog training career in 2007 when she and Abigail started Ohio 4-h Teen Dog Experience, a dog camp for kids! As a result of dog camp she learned to problem solve, be creative with training and how to adapt to the dog and handler.

Karin has been training dogs full time for 12 years and attends continuing education seminars whenever possible. She loves being able to use her knowledge and experience to problem solve training challenges. Her favorite part of dog training is that she is able to help owners have a dog who can go places and do all sorts of fun things with them whether that be playing dog sports, hiking, or hanging out at the kid's soccer game.

Karin loves hiking with her dogs, exploring new places, and playing dog sports. She has four sports mixes , Kevin, Carl, Karat and Chipmunk, and her husband John has a Norwegian Buhund, Zia. Karin and Carl have qualified for the UKI US Open and achieved their International Agility Championship 2. They have also ran on their clubs fastest flyball team, and Karin handled her Rent-a-whippet Mouse on the fastest variety team in the country in 2025.

Staff Trainer

Bree Hayes

Bree found her passion for dog training at a young age when she joined her county's 4-H dog club with her first dog, Scotty. She joined the staff here at Adventure Unleashed in 2018. Her dogs have trained or competed in agility, obedience, and flyball.

At home she has two dogs: Stunner-a Sheltie, and Pi-a Border Collie. She also has one cat, Charlie, who keeps everyone else in line.

Dogs are kind of our thing
